Privacy Policy

How This Policy Applies
This Privacy Policy describes personal information that Surety Technologies processes for its own business purposes, including operating its website, managing business relationships, administering accounts, billing, and business communications.
We also process data on behalf of clients when providing managed IT services. This includes monitoring and security telemetry collected from client environments. That processing is governed by the applicable Master Services Agreement, Quote, Services Guide, any applicable Business Associate Agreement, and applicable law.
Descriptions of that client data and its processing elsewhere in this policy are provided for transparency. They do not expand our rights to use, disclose, or retain the data beyond those permitted by the applicable agreements and law. Each client remains responsible for its own privacy practices and required notices to its employees and customers.
Regulated Data
Some clients operate under laws such as HIPAA (health information) or the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (financial information). Where we handle protected health information for a healthcare or dental client, we do so as a Business Associate under a separate Business Associate Agreement that governs that data. This kind of regulated data is also treated differently under Nebraska privacy law.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide and information generated when we deliver and support services. The categories below include information processed for our own business purposes and information processed on behalf of clients, as explained under "How This Policy Applies":
- Contact details such as your name, business name, email address, phone number, and mailing address.
- Account and authentication information needed to administer and support your systems.
- Technical details about the devices, networks, and software in your environment.
- Support requests, ticket history, and the communications we exchange with you.
- Billing and payment information used to manage your account.
- System and usage logs generated by the tools we use to monitor and manage your services.
How We Use Your Information
Subject to the processing roles and limits described under "How This Policy Applies," we use information to:
- Deliver, maintain, and improve our managed IT services and support.
- Monitor, secure, and administer the systems in your environment.
- Respond to your questions, requests, and support tickets.
- Process payments and send related account information.
- Send service updates, maintenance notices, and security alerts.
- Detect, prevent, and resolve technical problems and security threats.
- Meet our legal and regulatory obligations and enforce our agreements.
How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information or sensitive data or use it for targeted advertising. We use automated analysis to detect, prevent, and respond to security threats and to provide security services authorized by our clients. We do not use personal information for other profiling purposes. We share information only when necessary to run our business and deliver your services, including:
- With vendors and subcontractors who perform work on our behalf, whom we require by contract to maintain reasonable security procedures and practices and confidentiality obligations consistent with this policy.
- With technology partners required to provide your services, such as Microsoft and our cloud and security providers.
- When required by law, regulation, subpoena, or other legal process.
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of Surety Technologies, our clients, or others.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of business assets, provided the recipient is bound to protect the information consistently with this Privacy Policy and applicable agreements. Any material change in the recipient's use or disclosure of the information remains subject to the notice and consent requirements under "Changes to This Policy."
Cookies and Analytics
Our website is hosted on and served through Cloudflare, which automatically adds a lightweight analytics script that measures aggregate site traffic and performance. Cloudflare's web analytics is designed to be privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies and is built not to track or fingerprint individual visitors across sites. As part of delivering and securing the site, Cloudflare processes technical information such as IP addresses and may set essential cookies needed for security and performance, for example to tell automated traffic from real visitors. We do not run advertising or analytics cookies of our own. Because none of this is used for advertising or to track you across other websites, there is nothing to opt out of through browser signals such as Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption, access controls, and ongoing monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, or altered in a way that conflicts with this policy. Surety and its service providers may process and store information in the United States and in other jurisdictions where those providers operate. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by applicable law, including Nebraska's data breach notification law.
Data Retention
We keep your information only as long as needed to provide services, meet our legal and contractual obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify it.
Your Privacy Rights (Nebraska)
Surety Technologies is a small business based in Omaha, Nebraska. We do not sell personal information or sensitive data or use it for targeted advertising. We use automated analysis to detect, prevent, and respond to security threats and to provide security services authorized by our clients. We do not use personal information for other profiling purposes. Because we are a small business as determined under the federal Small Business Act, most obligations of the Nebraska Data Privacy Act do not apply to us. As a matter of voluntary practice, and regardless of whether the Act requires it, you may ask us to confirm and access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or provide a portable copy. If you have a concern we cannot resolve, you may contact the Nebraska Attorney General's office through protectthegoodlife.nebraska.gov.
Most of the information we handle relates to our business clients and their representatives. The Nebraska Data Privacy Act's consumer rights apply to individuals acting in a personal or household context, so if you are contacting us in connection with your employment or business, those statutory rights are unlikely to apply to your request. We will still consider it under the voluntary practice described above.
Text Messaging (SMS)
If you opt in to receive text messages from us, our handling of your mobile number and message data is described in our SMS Terms of Service. Mobile information and consent are never sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing.
Third-Party Services and Links
Our website and services may link to or rely on third-party tools and websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their policies.
Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy and will post the revised version on our website with an updated effective date. We will provide notice of material changes before they take effect, by email or another appropriate method.
We will obtain any consent required by applicable law before applying a material change to our use or disclosure of personal information. This includes changes affecting information collected under an earlier version of this policy. Continued use of our website or services does not substitute for any required consent.
An update to this policy does not amend an applicable service agreement or Business Associate Agreement.
