Privacy Policy
Effective January 1, 2026
How This Policy Applies
This policy covers personal information that Surety Technologies collects and controls in running its own business, such as information about website visitors, prospective clients, client contacts, and billing. It does not govern the data that lives inside the systems we manage for our clients. When we monitor, support, or administer a client environment, we handle the data in it on that client's behalf and under their direction, as set out in our Master Services Agreement and any applicable Business Associate Agreement. For that data, our client is responsible for its own privacy practices and notices to its employees and customers.
Regulated Data
Some clients operate under laws such as HIPAA (health information) or the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (financial information). Where we handle protected health information for a healthcare or dental client, we do so as a Business Associate under a separate Business Associate Agreement that governs that data. This kind of regulated data is also treated differently under Nebraska privacy law.
Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide to us and information generated as we deliver and support your services, including:
- Contact details such as your name, business name, email address, phone number, and mailing address.
- Account and authentication information needed to administer and support your systems.
- Technical details about the devices, networks, and software in your environment.
- Support requests, ticket history, and the communications we exchange with you.
- Billing and payment information used to manage your account.
- System and usage logs generated by the tools we use to monitor and manage your services.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Deliver, maintain, and improve our managed IT services and support.
- Monitor, secure, and administer the systems in your environment.
- Respond to your questions, requests, and support tickets.
- Process payments and send related account information.
- Send service updates, maintenance notices, and security alerts.
- Detect, prevent, and resolve technical problems and security threats.
- Meet our legal and regulatory obligations and enforce our agreements.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information or sensitive data, we do not use it for targeted advertising, and we do not use it for profiling. We share information only when necessary to run our business and deliver your services, including:
- With vendors and subcontractors who perform work on our behalf, whom we require by contract to maintain reasonable security procedures and practices and confidentiality obligations consistent with this policy.
- With technology partners required to provide your services, such as Microsoft and our cloud and security providers.
- When required by law, regulation, subpoena, or other legal process.
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of Surety Technologies, our clients, or others.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of business assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Privacy Policy or give you notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Cookies and Analytics
Our website is hosted on and served through Cloudflare, which automatically adds a lightweight analytics script that measures aggregate site traffic and performance. Cloudflare's web analytics is designed to be privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies and is built not to track or fingerprint individual visitors across sites. As part of delivering and securing the site, Cloudflare processes technical information such as IP addresses and may set essential cookies needed for security and performance, for example to tell automated traffic from real visitors. We do not run advertising or analytics cookies of our own. The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your device's IP address in order to deliver the font files. Because none of this is used for advertising or to track you across other websites, there is nothing to opt out of through browser signals such as Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption, access controls, and ongoing monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, or altered in a way that conflicts with this policy. Surety and its service providers may process and store information in the United States and in other jurisdictions where those providers operate. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by applicable law, including Nebraska's data breach notification law.
Data Retention
We keep your information only as long as needed to provide services, meet our legal and contractual obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify it.
Your Privacy Rights (Nebraska)
Surety Technologies is a small business based in Omaha, Nebraska. We do not sell personal or sensitive data, use it for targeted advertising, or use it for profiling. Because we are a small business as determined under the federal Small Business Act, most obligations of the Nebraska Data Privacy Act do not apply to us. As a matter of voluntary practice, and regardless of whether the Act requires it, you may ask us to confirm and access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or provide a portable copy. If you have a concern we cannot resolve, you may contact the Nebraska Attorney General's office through protectthegoodlife.nebraska.gov.
Most of the information we handle relates to our business clients and their representatives. The Nebraska Data Privacy Act's consumer rights apply to individuals acting in a personal or household context, so if you are contacting us in connection with your employment or business, those statutory rights are unlikely to apply to your request. We will still consider it under the voluntary practice described above.
Text Messaging (SMS)
If you opt in to receive text messages from us, our handling of your mobile number and message data is described in our SMS Terms of Service. Mobile information and consent are never sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing.
Third-Party Services and Links
Our website and services may link to or rely on third-party tools and websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their policies.
Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the current version on our website. Your continued use of our services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
